David Felton Murphy

Mr. David Felton Murphy, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at his home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M Monday, December 22, 2025 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. A visitation will be held in the Chapel of Aldridge Funeral & Cremation Services from 2:00 to 4: 00 P.M. Sunday, December 21, 2025. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Marty Dillon will officiate the services.

Mr. David Felton Murphy was born December 14, 1946 to the late Jack and Hilda Murphy. He graduated from Georgia Military College, retired from being the plant manager at Golden Peanut in Dawson. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 58 years and was a former deacon. In addition to his dedication to church and work, he loved to watch the Georgia Bulldogs and Braves play. But his true passion, was his family; his wife of 57 years, his children, grandchildren and even his great-grandchildren.

Mr. David Murphy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Brenda Womack Murphy. His two daughters; Amy Murphy Landreth (Clint) of Richland, GA, and Melanie Murphy Copeland of Americus, GA. Sister in law; Patricia Bramhall of Dallas, TX. Nephew and nieces; Dustin Carlock of Dallas, TX., Lily Rose Carlock of Dallas, TX and Sienna Carlock of Dallas, TX. A brother; Webb Bullard Murphy (Pennie) of Ellaville, GA. A brother-in-law; Johnny Womack (Debbie) of Americus, GA. Four grandchildren; Ryan Landroth (Chelsea), Cole Landreth, Sydney Copeland (Max Cummins), and Madelyn Copeland. Two great-grandchildren; Emma Claire Landreth, and Rhett Landreth.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father and mother -in-law; Johnny and Jimmie Womack.
