David Richard Neighbors, age 76, of Dalton, Ga., passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. He was born on February 4, 1947. He is preceded in death by his parents, George F. and Margaret Elvira "Jenkins" Neighbors Sr.; brothers, George Neighbors Jr., Paul Neighbors, Kenneth Neighbors; grandchild, Tommy Brock.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Elizabeth Ruth Neighbors; son, David and Marsha Neighbors Jr.; daughters, Sherry and Marvin Ferren, Melanie Johnston, Tara and Jeff Smith; sisters, Linda Roberts, Marie Sizemore, Kendra Lynn, Sandra Grady; grandchildren, Felicia and Douglas McGill, John and Lori Neighbors, Gary Brock, Cody and Sarah Johnston, Ethan and Alexis Johnston, Austin Smith, Hali Smith, Dustin Barger, Macy Odell; great grandchildren, Hunter, Kyleigh, Mason, Madilyn, Jaxon, Jonathan, Suzy, Conner, Payden, Londyn, Kylan, Kason, Paisley, Brody, River, Emma, Ella.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mr. David Richard Neighbors will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023 at City View Church of God with Pastor Nathan Case and Pastor David Mathis officiating. Interment will be at Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers, Cody Johnston, Ethan Johnston, Gary Brock, Barry Grady, Douglas McGill, Dewayne Morgan, Steve Henson.
The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:00-3:00 PM on Friday, Friday, March 31, 2023 at City View Church of God; funeral service immediately after the visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to independently owned and operated Dalton Funeral Home, 620 S. Glenwood Ave. Dalton, GA 30721; 706-529-5371.
