David Newham, 76, of Lawton, passed away peacefully in his home, on Friday, February 28th, 2025.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
David was born on May 17th,1948 in Houston, TX to the late Roy and Alice (Bailey) Newham. David spent most of his childhood in Texas, then moving to Oklahoma City with his family, where he worked for years, as a mechanic, he later moved to Lawton where he spent the rest of his time with his daughter Misty. Mr. Newham was one of eight siblings and loved being a brother to all of them, and often prided himself in being his mothers favorite, he enjoyed sewing and liked to make beach jackets to hand out as gifts to his neighbors, he loved to fish, be outside and explore, loved to build things and do anything with his hands, most importantly, David loved being a father and was known to be very generous with a giving heart.
He is survived by his three daughters, Misty Reyna, Sheila Newham, and Angela Newham-Carter; five sisters, Mary Newham, Janet and husband John Smith, Bobbi and husband Joe Smith, Sidney and husband Ronnie Todd, and Vivian Hill; six grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, two brothers, Melvyn and Worden Newham; a sister, Evalena Snyder; a nephew; and a great niece.
Memorial donations can be made to Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge or Complete OK Hospice.
