David John Olsufka, the son of Leonard and Rose (Zalewski) Olsufka, was born on July 28, 1968, in St. Paul. He left this world for his heavenly home on February 20, 2026.
David grew up on a farm near Farwell, Nebraska, with his parents and seven siblings, eventually moving to Mosaic in Beatrice. As a child he enjoyed singing and his love of music followed him throughout his lifetime. To pass the time on trips to visit his family, he sang along to his favorite songs and polkas.
During his early years at Mosaic, David participated in the bell choir at Mosaic church services where he learned numerous hymns. He was also a member of the swimming and bowling teams. He had a passion for trains and Husker football. He loved dances, outings to McDonalds, and watching Karate Kid movies.
David was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Jim Shiers.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Olszowka and Kathy Olsufka; his brothers, Steve (Theresa) Olsufka, Mike (Brenda) Olsufka, John (Julie) Olsufka, Dan (Lisa) Olsufka, Paul (Barb) Olsufka; numerous nieces and nephews; and his Mosaic family.
Private graveside services will be held in the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul. Memorials in David’s honor may be made to Mosaic at Beatrice.
