David Orlando Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Dateline: Burnt Hills, NY
David M. Orlando, age 53, died on December 15, 2025, peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. David was born January 28, 1972, in Schenectady, NY, and was the son of Fiorino and Frances (Pisano) Orlando. David met his wife, Ann (Canestraro) in 1989, and the two were wed on June 19, 1994. Together, they settled in Burnt Hills where they raised their sons, Justin and Adam.
David attended Schenectady High School, and following his graduation, continued his education at SUNY Canton. David excelled in his technical and mechanical skills. He most recently worked as a Maintenance Mechanic Plumber at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He greatly enjoyed his work, and the people he worked with.
David's mechanical skills extended beyond his work, as he always loved tinkering. David loved learning new things. He often spent his time researching how to improve his classic car, do a new project, or learning about history. He had a childlike sense of humor that never failed to light up the room. He loved his family and friends, and had a big heart. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Most especially, David found peace in his time spent on the beaches in Maine. He found solace in watching the ocean and the birds at the Marginal Way, a special place to him and Ann.
David is survived by his loving wife Ann Orlando; his sons Justin and Adam Orlando; his daughter-in-law Kerry Orlando (Justin); his mother Frances Orlando; his brother Frederick J. Orlando; his sister-in-law Virginia Clampett (Tom); and brother-in-law Valerio Canestraro. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Ronnie.
David is preceded in death by his father, Fiorino Orlando.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 3:00-5:00pm at Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21 Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY.
A Funeral Service will conclude the evening at 5:00pm.
