David Parson of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully at Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital on Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was a proud Navy veteran who devoted his life to serving other people. David was born in Rochester, NY, on January 19, 1948, as one of four beloved children of Wallace L. and Ethel M Morrison Parson. He graduated from Minerva Deland High School in Fairport, NY, and immediately joined the U.S. Navy, where his spirit of service was truly born. David was severely injured in Vietnam, received the Purple Heart commendation, and spent almost 3 years in Naval hospitals recuperating from his injuries. He received an Honorable Medical Discharge and returned home to college but his focus then turned to giving to others the same service he received to bring him through his injuries from Vietnam. David dedicated his life to caring for others, first in a hospital ship and then in his involvement with Youth with A Mission (YWAM) in Hawaii, and then on to serve YWAM in Switzerland. He found immense comfort and strength in his faith and returned from Switzerland to live in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, serving others and attending North Side Community Church in East Liverpool, Pennsylvania. His service to others continued through his work assisting and caring for others in coping with their own physical challenges until his admission to Heritage Valley Beaver Rehab and then Heritage Valley Beaver Hospital. In addition to his parents, David's sister, Dona Bradley, preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Eric DiMarsico, and his loving siblings - Kathleen (Rodger) Bufford of West Linn, OR, and brother Marvin (Constance) Parson of Lexington, SC. David's family and friends will come together to celebrate his remarkable life at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester, WV, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Rose will officiate the service. Friends may visit with David's family on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It will be a time to honor David's life, complete with full military honors from the U.S. Navy honor guard and the VFW Post 6450 honor guard. This gathering will be a heartfelt tribute to the caring and selfless Christian servant he was. David's service will be webcast on the Arner Funeral Chapel Facebook page on Tuesday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m.
