David PEARSON Obituary

March 31, 1954 - November 2, 2024

Kennewick - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David L. Pearson on November 2, 2024, at the age of 70. David was born in Spokane, Washington, on March 31, 1954, and passed at Hospice House in the Tri Cities.

Dave had a wonderful childhood, growing up in an idyllic 1950s neighborhood in Spokane, goofing around with his buddies in the woods and playing games with the neighbor kids. He attended Ferris High School (1972), where he was strongly committed to academics and enjoyed being a member of the cross-country team. He became an enthusiastic, lifelong runner after his experience in high school.

That same year, he began his studies at Washington State University, majoring in Pharmacy, initiating his lifelong love for the Cougars. He enjoyed his time at the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and thoroughly loved attending the Cougar football games. Dave also became a devoted member of the Cougar Club in the Tri Cities. He was so very proud that his son, Tyler, also attended WSU.

Following his degree, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin, and obtained his Masters. He relished the experience of attending school in Madison and made some lifelong friends during his stay there. He graduated with his Masters in June of 1979.

He then moved to Kentucky for his first job in Pharmacy management at a children's hospital. It was there he met his wife, Lee, and welcomed their son, Tyler, the light of David's life. After a few years, their family of three moved to the Tri Cities so that Dave could take a job as the Pharmacy Director of Kadlec Regional Medical Center, a position he held for 23 years. He was loved and respected in his role as director and gained some very special, enduring friendships during his time there. Sadly, during this happy time, his 21-year-old son died in a terrible automobile accident in 2008, and his wife passed three years later. Those years were so very difficult for him and his support system of family, friends and pharmacy staff helped see him through the worst of times.

In 2015, Dave married lovely Luisa in a beautiful ceremony at a winery and shared some meaningful, loving years together. Sadly, he was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in 2019, which became an increasing challenge as the years went by. After a few hospitalizations and various health complications, Dave passed peacefully under the compassionate and dedicated care of his wife and the Hospice nurses. He leaves behind his wife, Luisa, and his wonderful, caring stepson, Felipe Noya.

Dave was the beloved son of Leonard and Marian Pearson, who predeceased him. He leaves behind his sister, Marcia (Pearson) Yep, and her husband, Ron Yep, as well as his cherished nieces, Krista and Stefanie Yep. Dave will be deeply missed by his family and all those whose lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing to those who knew and loved him.

The family will be planning a memorial service in the Spring of 2025.

We were very sad to hear about Dave´s passing. I was Dave´s major professor and residency program director at the University of Wisconsin. He was a very hard working student and we were proud of Dave´s career sine he graduated. We will miss him

I am so very sad hearing about Dave Pearson´s passing.
He was a good childhood friend to me & my brother Stan; and his sister Marcia was a good friend to our sister Kay. Our father´s met in the Air Force during the Korean War, and stayed good friends. We were all born & raised in Spokane. One of my childhood memories was Dave, my brother Stan and me throwing the "white quartz rocks" that sparked when they hit the ground.
My family moved to Seattle in 1962
Fate would facilitate my wife Kim and I were being reintroduced to Dave´s sister Marcia & her husband Ron, when we all lived in San Diego; and we have remained dear friends since then. Through Marcia I was able to stay informed as to how Dave was doing.
GOD BLESS DAVE PEARSON; and his Family & Friends in this challenging time. He will be missed but he will no longer suffer. Knowing he is with his son Tyler and his loving parents, he is in a good place. Keep the Faith!!
