John A. Bloss

John Arthur Bloss, passed away on February 13, 2026 peacefully at his home in Libertyville, IL. He was born in Burlington, WI on May 29, 1945 and was a longtime resident of Libertyville. John packed in a lot of living in 80 years. He graduated from Salem Central HS in 1963 where he excelled on the golf team for 4 years. He attended the University of Wisconsin, where he played on the golf team until the Vietnam war got in the way. At 21 John enlisted in the US Army where he spent the next 4 years, one in Vietnam. John was a cryptologist which came in handy when he decoded a clue to help us get out of an Escape Room. John's love for golf, bourbon & cigars never waned. His golf partners in crime, Paul Gehrett, Scott Madden & Ivan Kostic treated Monday Night Golf league with the reverence of attending church at Steeple Chase. Throughout John's illness they stayed at his side & kept his spirits up. John was extremely proud of being a partner/owner of Alliance Financing Mortgage from 1999-2010 and a Sr. Loan officer with Diamond Residential Mortgage from 2010 until his death.

He is survived by his BFF & wife, Jan Leasure; son Kevin (Laura); stepdaughters, Jordan Leasure (Will Reigle) & Jade Dellinger (Jared) & 4 amazing grandsons, Parker, Jamison, Atlas & Grady and beloved puppy, Lumi Lynn Leasure. He is also survived by his ex-wife Barbara Bloss; sister, Jean Fox; niece Dawn Fox, and by brother, Jimmy Bloss.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Estelle, his loyal golden, Sammi Lynn Leasure, Derek the cat & Sniffy the white mink.

A visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville.
