David Phelps Obituary

David was born on February 3, 1953 in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Leroy Phelps and Linda Thweatt Hines. He worked as a carpenter out of the Local Union 357 before retiring from TVA. David enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing and gardening. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diann King Phelps of Benton; one daughter, Shannon McClain (Brian) of Mayfield; two sons, Lucas Phelps and Robbie Hack, both of Benton; one brother, Jerry Phelps of Paducah; two sisters, Debbie Stacey (Ken) of Fayette, Missouri and Donna Farmer (David) of Possum Trot; five grandchildren, Cori Hack, Olivia Hack, Trevor Hack, Lauren McClain and Zach McClain.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Gail Hines Butler and his parents.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow at Dees Cemetery in Calvert City, KY.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time on Sunday, February 13, 2023 at the funeral home.
