David W. Potts, 51, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at home. Born on September 25, 1973, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, David was the son of Wayne and Cheryl (Powell) Potts and a beloved husband to Mistie.

David graduated from Whitko High School with the Class of 1992 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business: Medical Device Quality Management, graduating summa cum laude with the highest honors. On March 7, 2009, he married Mistie Thompson in Columbia City, Indiana

With over 29 years of experience in the orthopedic industry, David excelled in various roles, including Continuous Improvement Manager, CNC Machinist, Quality Engineer, and Manufacturing Engineer. His work at Medtronic spanned more than 22 years, and he also contributed his expertise to Zimmer/Biomet and most recently, Avalign. Throughout his career, David built lasting friendships within his professional communities, leaving a positive impact on all those he worked with.

David was a devoted man of God and a lifelong member of the Baptist Church community. His strong faith inspired him to use his friendships as a way to minister to others, always embodying a true servant’s heart. He cherished the opportunity to meet the needs of those around him, whether it was sharing his truck, coming to the rescue, picking up a last-minute item, or sharing a heartfelt conversation.

David had a remarkable sense of humor that could lift anyone's spirits. His family was especially grateful for the strength and resilience he showed during difficult times. A true social butterfly, he thrived on collaboration and found joy in engaging with others, whether through conversation or simply listening.

David’s love for his family was evident in the quality time he spent with them, often taking day trips to Michigan with Mistie and their beloved dog, Hoggle. He was also an avid gun collector and a passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan. David's unwavering love and affectionate words will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David is survived by his loving wife, Mistie; beloved dog, Hoggle; daughters, Alexis (Kody Popenfoose) Potts, Morgan (Michael) Huntine, Brooklyn (Seaver Rothwell) Potts; sons, Gabriel (Gabrielle) Gaff, Anthony Gaff, Ethan Gaff; granddaughters, Emersyn and Brielle Huntine, Adalynn Gaff; brothers, John (April) Potts, Andrew (Amanda) Potts, Joe (Michelle) Potts; father-in law, Rick (Kathy) Thompson; sisters-in-law, Dawn (David) Wilkinson, Laurie (Brian) Cox; numerous nieces and nephews; and many aunts and uncles.
