David Larry Reeter, 86, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home in Vandalia, IL.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 24, 2025, at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service, at the church. Memorials: Shriners Hospitals For Children. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.millerfh.net.
He was born July 10, 1938, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Fred Louis & Bessie Marie (Cloe) Reeter. He married Donna Kay Stine on April 1, 1961, in Vandalia, IL. He worked at Denny's Department Store and retired from the City of Vandalia as Director of Public Works; and was a member of Vandalia Fire Department for many years and served as 2nd assistant chief.
He is survived by: Wife - Donna Reeter, Vandalia, IL; Daughter - Laurie Jennings & Barry, Beecher City, IL; Son - Matthew Reeter & Angela, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Joshua Jennings & Kelly, Louisville, KY, Mackenzie Wienke & Jud, Tuscola, IL, Dylan Reeter & Kaitlyn, and Dawson Reeter & Molly, all of Vandalia, IL; Great Grandchildren - Emma, Brecken, Cooper and Mason Wienke, Ellie and Haisleigh Reeter and a great granddaughter due in April.
Preceded in death by: His Parents; Son - Jeffrey Reeter; Sisters - Helen Augenstein, Kathleen Waddell, and Gerneta Bone; and Brothers - Robert, Billy and Miller Reeter.
