David Peña Rodriguez, born April 11, 1948 in San Antonio, TX passed away peacefully on November 08, 2025 at the age of 77, surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 33 years and mother of his children; Alicia O. Rodriguez, parents, siblings and first born daughter Hilda Rodriguez Garza.
He is survived by his daughters; Rachel Rodriguez, Yvette Gonzales (Michael), and Stephanie Rodriguez Nerio (Michael) Sisters; Natividad Silva and Rebecca Alvarado. And grandchildren; David V. Rodriguez (Giovannies Justiniano), Loren Garza, Natalie Garza, Sarah Garza and Mark Garza. As well as numerous extended family and friends.
David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969. "Once a Marine, Always a Marine" SEMPER FI! Following his military service, he continued his lifelong dedication to protecting and serving his community with the City of San Antonio. His commitment as a law enforcement officer spanned more than 30 years, retiring as a Sergeant with the San Antonio Park Police Department.
He took great pride as a member of the Edgewood District Veterans, where he shared lasting bonds with fellow servicemen and continued honoring the values of duty and camaraderie that defined his life.
Over the years, David became a strong man of faith, deeply devoted to serving others through various ministries. He served as the Men's Retreat Director and Core Member with the Holy Family ACTS Ministry and was actively involved with Shields of Christ, Ministry of the Third Cross, and the Knights of Columbus. He also generously gave his time and hard work for many years as part of the Holy Family Festival Committee, faithfully contributing to the parish and community he loved.
David P. Rodriguez completed his earthly journey and now rests in the loving arms of our Lord. May his soul find eternal peace, and may we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with loved ones who have gone before him.
Family and friends are invited to join us in prayer and celebration of a life well lived, as we remember him and honor his journey into Heaven. Our dad was a very special man whose strength, faith, and love touched everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
