I have known him all my life and every time I went to church I always had a smile on my face when I see David Ruckel.

Dave was an amazing man. He was direct, honest, bold, and sometimes right on the edge of outlandish. But he would often just smile instead of making a comment - and one could almost tell what he was thinking - and we always agreed. He helped us raise our 5 kids by sharing the gospel with them. That is the good part. The bad part - Dave was probably the worst babysitter in the world as he allowed our kids to eat junk food. It seemed watching them allowed Dave to act like a kid again - something he seemed to embrace.
One of our shared interests was riding Harley's. Ironically, we never rode together.
Dave and I had the opportunity to say goodbye in his final days. The last thing I said to him was to get things prepared for the rest of us when he meets his Savior. The average person would likely assume we were talking about some amazing theological event or something. But Dave and I knew we were talking about Dave finding the best places to ride when we all get to heaven.
Miss you already Brother..... (Scott)
