David Ruebensaal Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Waite Funeral Home Brunswick on Jan. 19, 2026.
David Paul Ruebensaal, age 50, of Chippewa Lake, entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 7, 1975, to Marlisa and the late Joseph. David is survived by the love of his life Laura; beloved children Dignity (Michael), Mas, and Emily; siblings Patrick, Jason (Heather), and Timothy; treasured father-in-law Bruno and mother-in-law Sylvia, and sister-in-law Linda (Jeff).

David was a kid at heart and loved building Lego creations, collecting Volkswagen items and memorabilia, and collecting and displaying Mr. Potato Head figures which he proudly displayed atop the kitchen cabinets for many years. He loved a good poker night and the company and camaraderie around the poker table. He loved going on trips with his family and true to his favorite Disney movie's tagline, always told his wife that she was his greatest adventure.

David proudly worked as the Director of Food Services at Aramark in the Grafton prison complex. He was passionate about the work he did and the people he worked with. He turned his vision into a reality by creating a diner for the normalcy unit, which had its grand opening and dedication earlier this week. His colleagues and team honored his efforts by naming the diner after him ("Rueb's Diner") and creating a flagship sandwich in his honor (the "Ruebenslaw").

He most cherished spending time with his family and all of his furbabies. David will be dearly missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.waitefuneralhome.com.
