David Michael Saenz

Age 67, of New Lenox, IL passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, on Thursday, July 24, 2025. David was born in Chicago, IL to the late Daniel and Jeanette (nee Persak) Saenz.

Beloved husband of Vicky (nee Fly) Saenz; loving brother of Daniel (Jodee) Saenz and Susan (Russell) Aulwurm; loved uncle, cousin, and friend of many; also survived by his beloved dog Zora. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his stepfather Gerald “Mickey” Norton.

David was a graduate of Lincoln Way Central High School Class of 1977. He was employed as a mechanic for T.J. Lambrecht Construction for over 30 years and then with Illinois Department of Transportation for several years.

He was hard-working and a great mechanic who could repair most anything. Dave was also an avid race fan and enjoyed working in his garage and his yard. He will be missed!

Memorials in David’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Lightways Hospice, Joliet, IL would be appreciated.

In honoring Dave’s wishes there will be a private committal service with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
