David M Saffer

David M. Saffer, 82, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Palm Greens Condominium Clubhouse (5801 Via Delray Blvd, Delray Beach, Florida) on Saturday, May 17th at 1:00 PM, where friends and family will gather to remember and honor his life. David was born on December 26, 1942, in Gowanda, New York. He attended SUNY Brockport, where he pursued his passion for education. That passion led him to be Rush-Henrietta Central School District in Rochester, New York, where he taught first, fourth, and sixth grades. While teaching, David continued his own education, ultimately earning his second master's degree-a reflection of his lifelong dedication to learning and service. Outside the classroom, David found joy in the everyday. He loved golfing, gardening, and cheering on his favorite sports teams-the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and Chicago Cubs-with unwavering loyalty. He was also civically engaged and proudly campaigned for political candidates in which believed. David was known for his warmth, generosity, and quiet commitment to helping others. Whether it was family, friends, students, or his community, he was always ready to lend a hand or offer support. David was predeceased by his parents, Jessie and Hy Saffer of Gowanda NY and his beloved brother, Jerry Saffer of Baltimore, Maryland He is survived by his beloved wife, Beth; his children, Rachel (James) Gettings and Abraham (Tonya) Saffer; and his treasured grandson, Carson Hall Saffer. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews David's kindness, humor, and love will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
