Obituary of David C. Schrader
Mr. David C. Schrader, 57, of Utica passed away after a long battle with heart disease on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital Medical Center, Rochester, NY, with his loved ones by his side.
David was born in Utica, on August 8, 1966, the son of L. Michael and Barbara (Oglesby) Schrader. He was raised and educated in Utica and was a graduate of JFK. He then furthered his education receiving an associate's degree in accounting from MVCC, Utica. On September 16, 1989, David was united in marriage with Kimberly Retschle, a union of nearly 35 years. David enjoyed concerts, especially Grateful Dead and Dave Mathews Band. Most of all the light of his life was his adored daughter and his three young grandchildren. He enjoyed all the moments he could spend with them, and they will miss him greatly.
David is survived by his wife Kimberly, loving daughter Alaina Ferreira and her husband Michael, Marcy, NY, his adored grandchildren Isabella George "Sweet Pea", Emma George "Little Girl Friend", Lucas Ferreira "Bestest Bud", parents L. Michael and Barbara Schrader, two brothers L. Michael Schrader and his partner Maria Clark, Selkirk, NY, Mark E. Schrader, Utica, brother in law George Retschle, sister in law Kristen Retschle, nieces and nephews Hannah Schrader, Morgan Schrader, Tayler Galusha, Rachael Galusha, Ryan Galusha, Crystal Ward, Olivia Retschle, Amanda Retschle, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to David' s funeral service on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 6PM from the Heintz Funeral Service, Inc., 408 Herkimer Road, Utica. His calling hours will be held prior to the funeral service at the funeral home from 4-6PM. Interment will be private and to the convenience of the family.
