David M. Scott, Sr.

November 6, 1950 - December 29, 2024

David Michael Scott, Sr., 74, of Milan, passed away peacefully December 29, 2024, peacefully surrounded by loved ones by his side. Per his wishes cremation rights have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held later.

David Michael Scott, Sr. was born November 6, 1950, in Moline, Ill., the only son of James and Janet (Krack) Scott. David graduated from United Township High School in 1968. After graduation David attended Apostolic Bible Institute before starting a 41-year career at McLaughlin body. While at McLauglin body, David was a proud United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 1414 number. During his membership he held several positions within the union.

Dave married his best friend, Vickie Lynn (McCannon) Scott, on October 16, 1999, in Fort Madison, Iowa. The couple resided in Iowa and Illinois before settling in Milan, Ill.

Dave had a passion for fishing, NASCAR, watching the Chicago Bears, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his loving and caring saint of a wife; children, David Michael (Amy) Scott, Janet Michelle (Kevin) Kintz, Duane Michael (Kelly) Scott, Jesse Arnold, and David (Crissy) Warner; sister, Jacqueline (Wayne) Scalf; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and other extended family. David Sr. leaves behind his trusty four-legged side kick, Rufus.

Dave was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina R.; sisters, Betty Aukee and Barbara Camerson; sister-in-law, Rita Kirkpatrick; parents; and beloved yellow lab, Gracie Lynn.
