David Shorr, 64, of Bexley, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 9, 2024, after a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer's Disease.
David was born November 20, 1959, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Dorothy and Dr. Henry Shorr and was the grandson of Rosa and Charles Shorr, and Legretta Stoyer and Edward Knuff.
He graduated from Liberty High School in 1978 and The Ohio State University Fischer School of Business. He worked at Wells Fargo for 25 years until he no longer could.
David loved being outside, fishing, hiking, and traveling - especially to Nantucket, Naples and South Carolina. He loved celebrating Halloween and had an impressive collection of rocks, sticks, and flowers that he collected on his daily walks. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and son and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.
David is survived by his two children Samuel and Leah, wife Kim Cohen Shorr, mother Dorothy Shorr of Bexley, sisters Patti Shorr of Bexley and Saralee Glaser of Los Angeles, and nephews Max (Amy) Glaser, Charlie Glaser, Nicholas (Daniella) Glaser and Henry L. Shorr II. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Marilyn Tipton and father-in-law, Jeffrey (Susie) Cohen, his Aunt Lois Stanchek, Aunt Patsy and Uncle Edward Knuff, and Uncle Art Eckles. He leaves many special friends and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Dr. Henry L. Shorr, his grandparents, and his Aunt Carolyn Eckles.
David's life will be celebrated at 10:00am, Sunday, February 18 at Temple Israel, 3100 E Broad Street, Columbus. The family will receive friends and family after the service.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the Sage Park Memory Care staff in Gahanna, Ohio and Suncrest Hospice who treated David with great care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in David's memory.
