In Loving Memory of Norman Barry Brody
July 21, 1932 – October 6, 2025
It is with deep sadness-and with gratitude for a lifetime of laughter, love, and memories-that our family shares the peaceful passing of Norman Barry Brody, surrounded by his loved ones after 93 extraordinary years.
Norman was a friend to everyone he met. His warmth, humor, and gift for storytelling made every conversation memorable. He cherished his family-both immediate and extended-and always made time to connect, listen, and share a joke or a thoughtful reflection.
His beloved wife, Gloria, was his partner in life for 62 beautiful years. Together, they built a loving home, raised a wonderful family, and created a legacy of devotion and joy.
Norman's grandchildren were the light of his life. He formed unique and special relationships with each of them, taking genuine interest in their passions, cheering them on in all their endeavors, and going out of his way to be part of their lives. Whether it was attending events, learning about their hobbies, or simply spending time together, Norman's love and support were unwavering and deeply felt.
He also had a deep love for travel. One of his favorite places was the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, where he found peace and beauty. But more than his own adventures, Norman delighted in hearing about others' travels. He loved helping plan trips, discussing itineraries, and hearing every detail- especially about the accommodations. It truly thrilled him to know others were enjoying themselves and making memories.
A lifelong learner, Norman enjoyed puzzles that challenged his mind and was drawn to books and films that explored Jewish history and culture. His Jewish faith was a cornerstone of his life, shaping his values and connecting him to a vibrant community of friends.
Norman proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and earned a degree in Communications from The Ohio State University. His career spanned roles in communications and accounting, where he brought dedication and integrity to every endeavor.
Norman will be deeply missed by his wife Gloria, his children Stuart (Kim) Brody, David (Nancy) Brody, Dan (Carah) Brody, daughter-in-law Mary Hiser and his grandchildren – Josh (Meira), Emmie, Benjamin, Noah, Sam and Maggie, and great-grandchildren Emunah and Ezra. He will be warmly welcomed by those proceeding him in death including his parents Herman and Bertha, brother Daniel, his beloved eldest son Howard and his best-friend and cousin Joe Blum, among many others.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025 at New Agudas Achim Cemetery, 2565 Performance Way.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zusman Hospice Greatest Needs Fund at Wexner Heritage Village, whose compassionate staff cared for Norman and our family with love and dignity. See link below.
