David L. Sligh, 82, of Newberry, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his residence.
Born on September 5, 1943, in Newberry, he was a son of the late Robert “Bob” and Willie Mae Wicker Sligh. David was an Army veteran and retired from Duke Power and Green Acre Farms.
He is survived by his sisters, Debra (Caroll) Long and Barbara Glymph both of Newberry; brothers, Richard (JoAnn) Sligh of Prosperity and Rogers Sligh of Newberry; a sister-in-law, Arlene Sligh of Newberry; nieces, Tracy (John) Bostic, Stacie Long and Dale Patterson; nephews, Justin (Danielle) Long, Kenny Sligh, Shane Sligh, Gregg (Vivian) Glymph, Todd (Veronica) Glymph and Matthew Hicks.
David was predeceased by a brother, Kent Sligh and brother-in-law, Olin Glymph.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 2, 2026, at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 or to the charity of one’s choice.
