In Loving Memory
David L. Snyder
July 30, 1942 - January 31, 2025
BREWERTON, NY - David L. Snyder, 82, of Brewerton, NY; went home to the Lord on Friday January 31, 2025. Born in Syracuse on July 30, 1942, he was raised in Brewerton and lived in Liverpool, until settling back in Brewerton. He also enjoyed the winter months in his home in Venice, FL for many years.
Dave was a 1960 graduate from Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square, NY. He received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education from The State University of NY College at Brockport, a Master of Science in Health Education from Syracuse University, and a C.A.S from the State University of NY College at Oswego.
Dave retired after working at Chestnut Hill Middle School in Liverpool after 35 years, he started as a physical education teacher, but most of the years as a health education teacher, and as an acting principal for 1 year. Dave put his heart and soul into his job as a teacher and just adored his students. On his free time after school he enjoyed working with people to help plan their cruise vacations through Cruises Inc. and helped other travelers plan their vacations through Salt City Tour and Travel and Premiere Travel.
Dave loved to travel, he went many places with his family and friends, he loved camping and having campfires, and enjoyed spending time at his "Lake House" in Lakeport on Oneida Lake, with his family and friends. Dave just enjoyed being near the water and enjoyed watching the sunset. He loved to fish and in his earlier years he was an avid hunter. Anywhere with his family is where he felt the most joy as he gave to us as well.
Dave was pre-deceased by his parents, Donald H. and Evelyn J. Snyder; his first wife Dianne (Lamica) Snyder; three sisters, Judy Hyland, Marlene Harrington, and Janice Davoy, and two grandsons Jordan A. Snyder and Michael S. Rinaldo.
Surviving are his loving wife Janet (Triolo) Snyder, a daughter Melissa (Michael) Rinaldo; five sons, Christopher Snyder, Todd (Amber) Snyder, Chad Snyder, Jason (Nicole) Hanas and Michael (Lindsay) Hanas; seven granddaughters, Ashley Bodnar, Giuliana, Gabriella and Alessia Snyder, Kendall, Natalie, and MacKenzie Hanas; a grandson Aiden Hanas and a great-grandson Mason Rinaldo; three sisters, Linda Snyder, Joan Snyder and Kimberly (Michael) Agedal and a brother Donald Snyder; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends and three grand dogs Gracie, Lillie, and Lucy.
A mass of celebration will take place on at 10 a.m., Saturday February 15, 2025 at the Clay Community Church at 8650 Morgan Rd. in Clay, NY; with a celebration of life gathering will follow after the mass. Arrangements are in care of Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9525 S. Main Street, Brewerton, NY.
The family would like to thank Hospice of CNY for their compassion during this most difficult time. Donations may be made in David Snyder's name to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St. Liverpool, NY 13088.
