David Daniel Solis Sr. passed peacefully with his family and loved ones by his side on February 20, 2022. David was born in Gregory, Texas on March 15, 1958 to Gilberto Solis and Adela DeLeon. He attended Gregory-Portland High School and graduated in 1978, he later attended Wharton Junior College in Wharton, Texas. He worked for CP&L (later AEP) for more than 30 years as a Lineman and would go on to retire in 2017. During retirement he would spend his days taking care of his dogs, working on his truck and other vehicles as well as mowing his grass with his John Deere mower. He would often times be seen down the street mowing his neighbors yards.
David was preceded in death by his parents: Gilberto and Adela and step-mother Braulia as well as his brother Fernando.
David is survived by his wife and longtime sweetheart Patricia and two children David Jr and Gabriella; siblings: Gilbert Jr. (Juanita) Solis of Pearland, TX; Henry (Mari) Solis of Portland, TX; Rosa Solis Berry of Corpus Christi, TX; Mary Solis (James Byron) Wade of Houston, TX. He is also survived by his nieces: Denise, Amanda, Barbara Jo, Valerie, Sara, Stephanie, Jessica, and Christina as well as his nephews: Fernando Jr., Joe Gilbert, Joseph and Johnny Jr. He also had numerous great nieces and nephews all of which he loved like they were his own children. David was known for his wit and sense of humor; he always had a smile on his face and loved to make others laugh. He would give you the shirt off his back if every given the chance, he was always willing to help anyone out.

Services:
Visitation will be held 5:00PM Friday, February 25, 2022 at Winsteads’ Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory with interment to follow at the Palms Memorial Gardens.
