David Franklin Stackhouse
David Franklin Stackhouse, 71, passed away in his home on Monday, June 9, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Richardson Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at Spring Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 am at the funeral home. The service will be streamed live on the Richardson Funeral Home (Marion, SC) Facebook page for those unable to attend.
David was born in Marion, a son of the late Elizabeth Baxley Stackhouse and Charlie Lott Stackhouse. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Wilson Stackhouse, Billy Howe, and Bobby Howe; a sister Sara Florence McDonald; brother-in-law, Gary Holland; and a close nephew Robert Baxley Howe. Mr. Stackhouse was a farmer and avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting and looking for Native American artifacts. He enjoyed his Friday morning breakfast with lifelong friends. In addition, he liked to tinker in his shop, hunt for a good deal and he especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Martha Craven Stackhouse of the home; sons, Charles Stackhouse (Whitney F. Stackhouse), William Stackhouse (Morgan Stackhouse) and David Stackhouse II (Whitney C. Stackhouse); daughter, Elizabeth Craven Stackhouse; grandchildren: Ashlynn, Lilly, Harlan, Auburn and Carlisle; sister, Anne Stackhouse; brother-in-law Larry McDonald; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Stackhouse, Harriet Howe, and Holly Howe.
In lieu of flowers, Memorials can be made to the Spring Branch Cemetery Fund, 213 Crepe Myrtle Court, Marion, SC 29571 or to the charity of one's choice.
