David Lynn Stallings, age 73, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at the Haywood County Community Hospital. He was born on November 19, 1952, in Brownsville, TN, to the late Willie Frank and Dorothy Griffin Stallings, Jr. The family has honored his wishes for cremation and there are no services scheduled at this time.
Throughout his career, David made a significant mark as a dedicated truck driver in the logging and lumber industry. His passion for his work was evident, as he cherished every moment spent in the woods alongside his co-workers. David’s love for the outdoors extended beyond his profession; he loved to fish and even when he wasn't fishing himself, he could often be found at Davy Crockett Lake, enjoying the serenity of watching others fish.
In addition to his love for fishing, David enjoyed going to tractor pulls, regularly attending the shows to watch and support his cousin, David Littlejohn. His enthusiastic spirit and hard work left lasting impressions on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
David is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Mosier Stallings, of Brownsville, TN, and his three sons: David Perry of Metairie, LA, Thomas Stallings of Columbus, OH, and Andrew Stallings of New Orleans, LA. He is also remembered by his sister, Gloria Stallings Mayfield, and her husband Gary, of Rio Rancho, NM, along with his cousins, David Littlejohn and Russell Graves.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
