David Strahm

1951 - 2025

The family of David Christian Strahm is saddened to announce his passing at age 73 on October 13, 2025, in Elk Bend, Idaho. Born on November 30, 1951, at Alameda Naval Hospital in California, Dave moved to Idaho as a child-the state he proudly called home. After growing up in Idaho Falls, he spent many years in the Boise area working in concrete construction, pouring foundations and flatwork all over the valley. Later, he took to the open road as a truck driver, never missing a deadline. An avid outdoorsman, Dave loved elk hunting, trout fishing, and country music, and he rarely missed the Braun Brothers Reunion in Challis. In retirement, he found peace at his log home on the Salmon River, surrounded by trees, a garden he tended, and his loyal dog, Willie Nelson. Dave was deeply proud of his children, who share his love for the outdoors and his "shirt off your back" kindness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolf and Beverly, and brother, Steven. Survivors include his children, Beau (Deonda) and Chloe (Ben); grandsons Koah and Wallace; and his brother and sister. The mountains of the Salmon River country are quieter now- without his stories, or hollering at Willie when he got underfoot. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in the Boise area.
