David S. Swierzowski

David S. Swierzowski, 78, of Charlton, passed away on Wednesday evening, August 13, 2025 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born in Amsterdam, NY on October 13, 1946, a son of the late Stephen J. and Wanda M. (Jankowski) Swierzowski. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. He started his apprenticeship program at GE while simultaneously serving in the US Army Reserves from 1966-1971. David worked over 25 years with the Plumber's and Steamfitter's Local #7.
David was a communicant of the former St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. He was a member of the John J. Wyszomirski Post #701 in Amsterdam. He was also a member of the P.N.A. and the Reid Hill Fish and Game Club in Amsterdam.
David was married to his loving wife Patricia Jo Smith for 57 years. In addition to his wife Patricia, survivors include his daughters, Michelle Tetlak of Amsterdam, NY, Christina (Robert Ross) Swierzowski of Galway, NY and Kimberly Tvelia of Scotia, NY. Six cherished grandchildren, Amber, Amanda, Katelynn (Mike), Charlotte, Aiden and Addelayde. A sister, Carol Swierzowski (Richard Talcott) of Saugerties, NY. Cousins also survive.
David was an avid reader of thriller and suspense novels. He enjoyed foraging for mushrooms, gardening, fishing, listening to music and old time shows.
