George A. Abraham

George A. Abraham, 78, of the Town of Florida, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025. Born on July 9, 1947 he was a son of the late David and Betty Markes Abraham.

A lifelong area resident, George worked on the family farm for over 40 years. He was a past member of the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department, The Tri-County Old Time Power Association and a member of the pumpkin patrol for many years. George was also a Ham Radio enthusiast for many years. He also worked for several local entities including Adirondack Knit, and Mariaville Peet Moss.

George was quiet and kind soul who would often help anyone in need. He was also never afraid to share his opinion or give you a sign- with a smile. He enjoyed his cup of Stewart's coffee with his friends, and sitting around a fire with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Beatrice "Bea" Abraham and Beth (Bob) Jump.

Survivors include his siblings, Clara Abraham and Charles Abraham (Deb Blaha); several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Friday, September 12th, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the Rose & Hughes Funeral Home, 200 Church Street, Amsterdam, NY. Visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service, beginning at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. All are invited to attend.
