David Patrick Tardif

LACONIA ---- David Patrick Tardif, age 75, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 28, 2024. His family and friends surrounded him with love in his last days and his wife Sue was by his side as he passed on. We all know he was welcomed by his mother Loretta, father Pat, Uncle Louie, sister Joyce and brother Scottie. We are sure it was a great celebration when they all saw each other again.
David graduated from Laconia High School in 1968 and enlisted in the US Army where he served our country for three years in active service and one year in the Reserves.
David was a colorful guy; he was known all around the Lakes Region as he owned and operated the best donut shop, "Goody Good Donuts." He spent his entire life making that tiny donut shop a favorite for everyone in the area and was well known for his big red delivery van with the famous TEX license plate.
In his early years, David loved camping with his family, riding horses and walking the ocean beaches looking for rocks and seashells. His career as the owner of a thriving donut shop took much of his time but he always made time for family. There were many horseback riding adventures and days spent on the boat cruising around Lake Winnipesaukee. David loved his tie dye tee shirts and cut off denim shorts. He loved collecting eclectic things, such as driftwood, wish rocks and giant pinecones from California to represent special moments in his life.
Later in life, David met Sue Copp and they embarked on the next adventure, retiring and buying a piece of paradise. They enjoyed wintering in the Dominican where they could enjoy the sun and beaches. One of David's favorite past times was playing Cribbage with his friends in the neighborhood. David and Sue would return to NH each year just in time for Bike Week and would spend the summer riding the motorcycle and visiting with family.
David is survived by his wife, Sue Copp-Tardif, and members of their blended family, Richard, Randy and Ryan Constant and several grandchildren; his daughter, Sebra Tardif; grandchildren, Linsey and Brandon Alger and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Allen (Ann) Tardif, Janice Tardif St. Onge and Gail (Don) Hawkins.
The family would like to thank Lakes Region VNA services and nurse Casey for the compassionate care they provided.
David will be laid to rest at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen, NH. Services will be held at a later date.
