David Martin Thibodeau

Fair Haven/Hinesburg, VT- David, 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 17, 2025, at the Jack Byrnes Center in West Lebanon, NH following a long illness. He was born on December 23, 1959, in Burlington, VT, the son of Martin & Anne Thibodeau (Halnon).

David graduated from Champlain Valley Union High School, class of 1978. Following graduation, David started his 33 year long career working for Vermont Rail System where he worked as the Superintendent of Maintenance of Way in the Rutland, VT office.

In 1984, David married the love of his life, Patricia Hebert. They went on to celebrate over 40 years of marriage, building a wonderful life full of love and laughter with their three children at their home in Fair Haven.

David was proud of his involvement in the Boy Scouts, holding a position as a Scout Leader while both of his sons were members, going on to become Eagle Scouts. David enjoyed travels throughout the states of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, as well as travel destinations including Cancun, Bahamas, and Sweden. He enjoyed spending his free time with his grandchildren, woodworking, hunting and fishing.

David is predeceased by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Thibodeau of Hinesburg, VT. He leaves behind his son, Martin Thibodeau (Sarah) and their two children Adlee and Lydia of Fair Haven, VT, son, Danial Thibodeau of Fair Haven, VT, daughter Heather Moore (Kyle) and their two children Clayton and Evelyn of Castleton, VT. He is also survived by his brother, Dean (Tanya)Thibodeau of Colchester, VT, sister, Dianne (Steve) Jackson of Vergennes, VT, his Uncle Edward "Pete" Briggs, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025 from 3:00-5:00pm at the Fair Haven, VT Legion.
