David A. Tostenson, 68, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab Facility.
A Time to Celebrate David's Life will be on July 27, 2024, from 2-4 pm at the Milbank Community Center, 1101 East 4th Ave, Milbank, SD.

David Allen Tostenson was born on October 11, 1955, to Almond and Helen (Schliesman) Tostenson in Milbank, SD. David was a rowdy youngster who loved to make people laugh with an occasional practical joke. He graduated from Milbank High School in 1973.
David was united in marriage to Gloria Wright in Milbank, SD, in 1981, whom he met in middle school when he was seated behind her. He eventually won her over with his charismatic charm, and they started their life together. They brought one beautiful child, Jennifer, into this world and eventually moved to Aberdeen, SD, where they made their home.
Whether it was at work or at home, David and Gloria were always together. David has held various jobs in Aberdeen over the years and excelled in any position. He enjoyed cooking and worked as a chef at several local restaurants, as well as at hospitality positions at the Super America and Super 8 hotels. When Wells Fargo Bank opened in Aberdeen, David started a career as a Loan Collector, where he worked for many years until he was forced to retire due to his health.
His rambunctious personality and yearning to make people laugh followed David into his adulthood. He enjoyed pulling harmless pranks and was well-known as a trickster! David especially loved to watch all sorts of comedy shows and movies, his favorites being Two and A Half Men and a British comedy show, Mrs. Brown's Boys. David also enjoyed music of all types; he loved anything and everything he could listen to. He even taught himself how to play the organ!
Grateful and blessed to have shared David's life are his wife of almost 43 years, Gloria Tostenson; siblings: Bill (Kristy) Tostenson of Milbank, SD, Rose (Bob) Pauli of Milbank, SD, Julie (& special friend Michael Keith) Erickson of Milbank, SD, and Mary (Vince) Hagen of Milbank, SD; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; goddaughters, Erica (Matt) Paulson of Watertown, SD, and Kylie (Corey) Muilenburg of Rapid City, SD; godsons Jeremy (Ginny) Tostenson of Milbank, SD, and Paul (Janae) Tostenson of Milbank, SD; brothers-in-law Arthur Wright of Minneapolis, MN, and Mike (Tammy) Wright of Rochester, MN; and sister-in-law Brenda Wright of Fremont, NE.
Preceding David in death are his parents, Almond and Helen; daughter Jennifer "Jenni" Tostenson; baby girl sister Tostenson (in infancy); parents-in-law Elmo and Elsie Wright; sister-in-law Janet; and brothers-in-law Billy and Zane.
