David Alan Unrein, 60, was a simple man who led a simple life. He was known for his generosity and love for family and friends. He was an amazing son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend who was loved by all and is dearly missed.
He was born in Denver, Colorado on August 20, 1963 to Willard (Bill) and Sue Unrein and passed away at home on January 14, 2024 in LaSalle, Colorado. He loved living in the country.
Dave was raised in Brighton, Colorado and graduated from Brighton High School in 1982. He worked a variety of skilled labor jobs including construction, mechanic, transportation, mill operator and at feedlots. Even though Dave spent most of his career as a truck driver, he felt happiest working as a cowboy and rancher. He cherished his time in the country working with animals.
Survivors include his mother, Sue Unrein of Windsor, Colorado, sisters Debra (Norman) Blehm of Windsor, Colorado and Donna (David) Ward of Loveland, Colorado, nephews Jonathan Ward of Melbourne, Florida and Michael Ward of Loveland, Colorado.
Also surviving Dave is his best friend and second family, Keith and Katie Even of LaSalle, Colorado along with their 5 daughters, Olivia, Elizabeth, Victoria, Rachel, Natalie and each of their families.
Dave is preceded in death by his father, Willard (Bill) Unrein and stillborn sister, Susan.
A simple, private ceremony was held in his honor.
