Van Buren--- David J. Vaillancourt, 75, peacefully passed into the loving embrace of his late parents on October 12, 2025, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with cerebral palsy. He was born August 9, 1950, in Van Buren, a son of the late Gerard and Fernande (LaFrance) Vaillancourt.

Dave last worked many years at Lajoie Farms, Cyr Plantation, as a potato truck driver. He made many memories working next to the farmers and their laughs still echo over the potato fields. He also worked at the family business, Vaillancourt Trucking, Van Buren, and was imperative while it was first being developed. Previously, Dave worked at the former Blier Mill and spent a bit of time working for Dysart's service station in Bangor. Dave was an easy-going man and loved to sass the ladies. He enjoyed long drives touring the St. John Valley, usually with Johnny Cash or Charlie Pride blasting through the windows. Dave always enjoyed the company of his large family and spent many evenings partaking in a few drinks to wind down with his slew of buddies.

He is survived by seven siblings, Michael Vaillancourt and his wife Patty of Arizona, Larry Vaillancourt and his wife Enola of Van Buren, Judy Abbott and her husband Edward, Mona Tatro and her long-time companion Walter Paszul, all of New Hampshire, Danny Vaillancourt of Bangor, Gary Vaillancourt and his wife Diane of Van Buren, and Michelle Rioux and her husband Gabriel of Hamlin; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, David was predeceased by a brother, James, in 2015

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Church, Van Buren. Relatives and friends may greet the family Monday morning 9:30 – 10:15 AM at the church. Burial will be in Grand River Cemetery, Van Buren. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dave's name may be made to St. Bruno/Remi Parish Needs c/o Knights of Columbus, 284 Main St, Van Buren, ME 04785. Arrangements are a service of Lajoie Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren.
