David Walak Obituary
David was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and Berkshire Community College. On May 4, 1974, he married the former Pamela Desautels at Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield.
Throughout his working life, David was known for his skill and strong work ethic. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at General Dynamics, a machinist at General Electric, and later as a mechanic at Sears.
In his free time, David found joy in the outdoors. He especially enjoyed skiing, fly fishing, and gardening, taking particular pride in growing giant pumpkins.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Pamela Walak of Dalton; his children, Brian Walak of Dalton and Amanda Walak of Holyoke; his grandchildren, Gilbert Walak and Ethan Milette; his mother, Daisy Walak of Cheshire; and his siblings, Peter Walak of Cheshire, Steven Walak of Natick, and Beverly Caravaty of Schenectady, NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in David's name to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 E. Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.

My heart is broken hearing of David´s passing. Bob and I enjoyed 18 years living next door to you. Dave was a great guy. Always outdoors doing something. The garden, the lawn or raking snow off from the roof. Pam I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
