David Lee Weaver, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 10, 2025. He was born on October 23, 1957, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Alfred E. and Ruth Marie (Terhune) Weaver. David married the love of his life, Susan Marie Rizzi, on August 24, 1985, in Holy Name Catholic Church in Beech Grove.
David was a graduate of Franklin Central High School, class of 1976. He was a project manager for General Devices for almost 50 years; a job and company he dearly loved. David loved working with his hands, always kept busy and loved to help other people. He loved fishing and always looked forward to the annual fishing trips in Ludington, Michigan, with his buddy Tom. He enjoyed cooking and was a master with his smoker; his co-workers loved it when he brought food to work. His greatest joy was his family, especially his two grandchildren, Hunter and Hazel.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 40 years, Susie Weaver; children, Amanda (Ross) Pierson and Adam Weaver; brother, Wayne Weaver; and grandchildren, Hunter and Hazel Pierson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred E. Weaver and Ruth Marie Gerdt.
Family and friend will gather on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in St. Roch Catholic Church, 3600 S. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis. The service will follow visitation at 5:30 p.m. with Fr. Douglas Hunter presiding.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to his grandchildren's school, Mooresville Christian Academy, 4271 IN-144, Mooresville, IN 46158. Envelopes will be provided at the church.

I worked with Dave for almost 16 years at General Devices. He was my last foreman before I moved back to Michigan. One day Dave came up to me and said his son came home from school and asked him these questions:
1) What is more powerful than God?
2) What is more evil than the Devil?
3) What is something that rich people need?
4) What is it that poor people have?
5) What is it that if you eat it, you will die?
He told me the answer after all these questions, and I have never forgotten this conversation. And it was probably close to twenty years ago.
Dave was a good foreman to me.
