Linda Jean (Mitchell) Scott Abbott, age 75, of Ladoga, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at IU Methodist. She was born in Beech Grove, Indiana, on August 14, 1949, to Charles O. Mitchell and Betty Jean (Bridgman) Basham.
Linda graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1967. She married Richard W. Scott on August 19, 1967; he preceded her in death on November 14, 2004. She later married Gregory Alan Abbott on September 10, 2011. They loved traveling together, and Linda especially enjoyed their trips to Melbourne Beach, Florida.
Linda's work experience included time at Southmont High School as a Special Education Assistant and, most recently, as Sarah Bradley's photography assistant. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and watching hummingbirds. Linda loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them perform in various activities. A devoted Elvis Presley fan, she found great joy in visiting Graceland.
She is survived by her husband, Gregg; mother, Betty; daughters, Gina Scott and Lana (Shawn) Gregg; grandchildren, Carlie Gregg, Abby (Chase) Kinkead, and Lea Gregg; nephews and nieces, Eric, Alex, Sabrina, Megan, Anthony, and Chad, and their mother, Jude; and her stepbrother, Rick Basham.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles; her first husband, Richard Scott; and her brother, Charles Kevin Mitchell.
Linda was a member of Ladoga Christian Church where her visitation will be held at 124 W. Elm Street, Ladoga, on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon, with Pastor Bob Vice officiating. Burial will follow at Ladoga Cemetery.
