David Fleming Weikart

David Fleming Weikart, age 72, died peacefully on April 17, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Patti, his beloved daughter Julie, his brothers, J. Martin Weikart (Rosalie) and Albert M. Weikart (Patricia), nieces Jody Weikart and Gillian Malone, nephew Chris Weikart and sister-in-law Pamela Dougherty.
A lifelong resident of New Jersey, he was born in North Plainfield, the son of Margaret and John Weikart. He is a graduate of the University of Delaware (BS in Mathematics and Chemical Engineering), the University of Minnesota (MS in Chemical Engineering) and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (MS in Computer Science). He was a Senior Engineer at Exxon Research and Engineering and concluded his professional career as Principal in the Weikart Group LLC, a computer consulting company.
He will be remembered fondly for his quiet, but friendly presence. He was always willing to lend a hand, whether to share his talents in fixing technology issues, volunteering his time to help others or being a devoted Dad to his daughter Julie. We'll miss his storytelling of adventures, even if he shared them multiple times, his love of all science fiction, and his sense of humor. His memorial service will take place at the First Presbyterian Church 10 Wildwood Avenue in Pitman, NJ on Saturday May 10 at 2:00pm.
