David Werner Obituary
The Visitation for David A. Werner, 85, of Bokeelia, FL, formerly of Hoffman Estates, will be on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the Time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, IL. The Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, IL.
David Werner, known for his endearing smile, his integrity and his athletic abilities died Friday, October 25, 2024, after a long illness. He was born January 4, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois.
Dave worked at what he loved for 35 years, teaching and coaching in District #15 Palatine, Illinois. The positive impact he had on students and fellow teachers was enormous. Dave also loved family, fishing, riding motorcycles, music, travel and being outdoors. And dogs! Dave loved dogs!
David is survived by his wife, Vicky; his daughter, Tiffany (Damon) Schultz; his grandchildren, Blake Schultz (Anna nee Wainio) Schultz and Marley Schultz. He is also survived by sisters and brothers in-law, Linda (Jeff) McClelland, Karen (Mike) Dixon, Dan Zimmermann and Sybil Beam, and Jean Zimmermann. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Ron Leslie; many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Minerva Werner; brother, Richard Werner; and daughter, Andrea Werner; also two sisters-in-law, Diane Neff and Joyce Leslie.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Gulf Coast Village in Cape Coral, Florida for the loving care they gave Dave during this difficult time.
