David G. Wery, 67, of Daggett passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 27, 1956, to the late Ervin and Rita (Kline) Wery in Menominee. On January 18, 1975, David married Janet Anderson at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Stephenson. He worked for Lily packaging for five years, as a mechanic at K-Mart over 10 years, owned and operated D&J Automotive six years, and for Waupaca Foundry for 21 years, retiring in 2019. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba. David enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling, and working on anything with an engine.
David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet Wery of Daggett; son, James (Misti) Wery; daughters, Michelle and Jennifer Wery; brothers, Alan (Kelly) Wery and Phil (Kristle) Wery; sisters: Janice (John) Thoune, Marianne (David) Broberg, and Beth (John) Solander; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Wery and his in-laws, Arthur and Ellen Anderson.
Visitation will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Escanaba on Tuesday June 11th from 10-11am EST. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am EST with Pastor Dick Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Menominee. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
