On October 6th, 2025 our beloved Heather Ann Wery passed away peacefully in her home surrounded with love.
Heather was born on May 17, 1976 in Green Bay WI. She was the middle child of Lyle and Emily Wery. Heather was the light in our lives. Her gentle, kind and loving nature filled our world. Heather’s hugs were the stuff of legends!
Heather graduated from Green Bay East High School. She loved her job at St. Norbert College, her fellow staff and the students she helped all gained a place in her life, especially the hockey players.
Heather was an avid St. Norbert College hockey fan. Hockey games were the highlight of her week; in 30 years, Heather rarely missed a home game. Besides her family, Heather loved to color and "write her books" as she called it. Bernstein Bear’s and Little Critter books were her favorite, she had every one. Heather passionately went to rummage sales and Barnes & Noble hunting for books she didn’t already have. Heather enjoyed playing Bingo on Monday nights in Denmark, WI and was a long time participant in the YMCA Special Populations Night. Heather loved the Harry Potter series. She had all the books. She watched the movies over and over snuggled under her favorite Harry Potter blanket.
Heather had a larger-than-life personality packed into her tiny body, with the grace and innocence only someone with Downs Syndrome could possess.
Heather leaves behind her parents, Lyle and Emily Wery; her sister, Denise Wery; her niece/God daughter, Nicole Wery; her brother, Eric Wery; her sister-in-law, Emilie Wery; and nephew, James Wery. She was preceded in death by both sets or her grandparents, Donald and Lucille Wery, and Eugene and Agatha Mikulsky; and her Uncle, Timothy Leurquin.
Thank you to everyone who helped Heather lead a fulfilling life.
A celebration of Heather’s life will be held on October 15, 2025 from 4:30 to 7:30pm at the Pittsfield Town Hall located at 4862 Kunesh Rd Green Bay WI.
