Davie Ann Proulx

Davis "Davie" Ann Proulx, of Cloquet, MN, passed away peacefully in her home on November 6th, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born to William and Gaile (Olson) Hammett, on June 30th, 1948, in Fargo, ND, Davie was one of two children. At just 6 months old, the Hammett's moved to Cloquet, MN where they raised their family. She attended Cloquet Public Schools, graduating high school from Mount St. Benedict in Crookston, MN.

After high school Davie moved to the Twin Cities until her, high school sweetheart, Paul, brought her home to Cloquet. They got married on October 5, 1968, in Cloquet, and had three children, Steve, Lori, and Toni, that they raised in Cloquet. She held a variety of jobs in the community; however her favorites were being a certified occupational therapy assistant in the memory care unit, a foster grandma at the Fond du Lac Headstart, and her most recent work with the Carlton County Historical Society.

Davie will be remembered for her caring and selfless personality, where she would lend a helping hand to anyone. She adored her family and all of the children she worked with at HeadStart. The biggest joy in her life were her grand kids, Brady, Brooke, Blythe, and Michael. She loves all of her family to the moon and back.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul; parents, William and Gaile; and sister, Cathi Wade.

Davie is survived by children, Steve (Kathy), Lori (Cheryl), Toni (John); grandchildren, Brady (Thelema), Brooke, Blythe, and Michael; nephew, Clint Wade, and other numerous nieces and nephews, brother and sister in-laws, and many extended families, friends, and loved ones.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at 10 am at Nelson Funeral Care, followed by a memorial service at 12 noon. A private family interment will be held at New Calvary Cemetery.
