Davis Owen McBride

Davis Owen McBride of Clearfield, Utah passed away from cancer on May 2, 2022. He was born on December 16, 1933, in Burley Idaho, the eldest of 5 children born to Owen and Vilate Bennett McBride.
He graduated from Meridian High School where he was a member of the ROTC and later joined the Army 101st Airborne division. He married his high school sweetheart Joyce, in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 11, 1955.
He attended Brigham Young University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. Davis worked most of his career for the Bureau of Reclamation as a program manager and site director for the youth conservation corps and job corps.
Davis enjoyed mountain climbing, camping, wood working, hunting and anything outdoors. He was also a handyman and taught his sons the same. He enjoyed dancing and participated in many Ballroom and Square-Dancing exhibitions with his wife, Joyce. During his last few years, he enjoyed snowmobiling and driving his UTV in the Uinta mountains as well as traveling overseas.
Davis was devoted to serving in the church throughout his life, as well as holding positions as bishop and on the high counsel. He and Joyce served a two-year mission in the Utah Ogden Mission.
Davis was a proud father of 5 children and a grandfather to 19, great-grandfather to 31. Davis is survived by his five children, Bonnie (Dave Ruesch), Brent (Jackie), Merry, Curtis, and Todd (Stacie). In addition, he is survived by one brother and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart Joyce, one brother and his parents.
Grave side service will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 11a.m. at the Clearfield Cemetery 1050 South State, Clearfield UT where he will be interred on their 67th wedding anniversary. Friends may visit the family Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at the Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, Layton Utah. Order Videos
