Dawn proudly served as a dedicated officer with the New York Police Department for 25 years, stationed at the 122nd Precinct in Staten Island. Upon her retirement, she left behind a legacy of service, strength, and compassion.
In retirement, Dawn embraced the joys of family life. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren, and found happiness in knitting, online shopping, and playing bingo. Among her fondest memories were the trips she took to Disney in Florida with her beloved grandchildren.
She was the cherished daughter of the late George "Apple" Castellano and Emma "Chickie" Castellano. Dawn was predeceased by her sons, Corey Jampetro and Jason Castellano.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Staciann Jampetro-Mendez, and her husband Nick; her daughter-in-law, Candy Giron; and her five treasured grandchildren: Louis, Brianna, Dominick, Lia, and Giovanni.
Dawn is also survived by her siblings: Dobie (Ron), Dean (Diane), Donnie (Sue), Dale (Cynthia), Danny (Janice), Darren (late Connie), David (Elena), Dominick, Drew (Jodi), and Donnie Jr., along with countless nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close.
Dawn will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her proud service to her community, and the joy she brought to everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
