Dawn Ann Giglio

Dawn Giglio was born January 2, 1938 and passed away December 21, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Paul Drescher and Ruth McKneely, her husband Joseph F. Giglio III, and her siblings Collin McKneely, Janice Cortese, and Lida Lord.
She is survived by her children Michael G. Giglio and wife Laura Giglio, Margaret (Peggy) Giglio and husband Larry Watson, Robert (Robbie) J. Giglio Sr., Joseph C. Giglio and wife Amy Giglio, and Victor J. Giglio.
Dawn is also survived by her grandchildren Meredith Starr and husband Travis Starr, Celeste Giglio, Story Giglio, Coleen Watson, Tara Watson, Jasmine Watson, Niles Watson, R. J. Giglio, Jr., Charlie Giglio, Alec Giglio, Rebecca Giglio, Kristen Giglio, and Colbi Giglio.
Dawn danced ballet and tap as a young girl. She played trumpet in the marching band at East Liverpool High School and returned to play in reunion bands several times. She later learned to play piano, guitar, dulcimer, and autoharp.
Dawn was trained as a radio operator and worked for Delta Air Lines as a teletype operator.
She converted to Catholicism as a teenager. Dawn met her husband through Sodality at St. John Berchmans Church and was married there. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and participated in Mary's Workers for many years.
Dawn was a Cub Scout Leader and trainer and received the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts. She was a Girl Scout Leader and worked for Pelican Council Girl Scouts in Shreveport and Arkansas Post Girl Scout Council in Pine Bluff in various positions.
She loved to sew and sewed clothing for herself and her family. Dawn made doll clothes for dolls given away at Christmas time by Christian Service. She gave sewing lessons to Girl Scouts and the community. She loved crafts of all kinds including basket making. Dawn made elaborate God's eyes wall hangings. She loved to camp with the scouts and family.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 26th, at Osborn Funeral Home from 5-7pm with a Rosary following at 7pm celebrated by Deacon Bruce Pistorius. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 27th at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church celebrated by Very Rev. Matthew Long with a burial to follow at Forest Park East
