Dawn Reid Obituary

Dawn was an elementary school teacher for most of her adult life in South Carolina. She loved all things Scottish, Jimmy Buffett, and rooting for the USC Gamecocks. She took an active role in the lives of her grandchildren. She enjoyed cheering them on in their sports games, dance performances, orchestra concerts, and more. She valued creating memories and took them on experiences like plays, museums, and the zoo. She cared deeply about each of them and enjoyed every moment she had with them.
She is survived by her mother, Alice Reid; brother Bruce Reid; sister Cindy Reid; children Lauren Thompson (husband Ryan Thompson), Sean Meara, and Kaeleigh Gilmore (husband Brandon Gilmore); and grandchildren Nick Meara (18), Wyatt Meara (14), Samantha Meara (12), Bennett Gilmore (11), Charlotte Meara (8), Eliza Gilmore (8), and Willow Gilmore (4).
Dawn is preceded in death by her father Donald Reid.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Peace Center (Greenville, SC) or to South Carolina State Parks.

Steve and I will always remember the fun we had with Dawn and Kaeleigh traveling with the soccer team. The Canada trip was memorable!!
Will miss seeing Dawn at Lake Forest where she visited her Grandchildren.

Although we never met Dawn, I do see a strong facial resemblance to her sister, Cindy. We wish peace and comfort for Dawn´s family and only happy memories.
