Deacon Edward Carter was born in Red Lick, Mississippi, to Zula Hattix and Alfred Carter Sr. He passed away on Nov 30th, 2025.
Edward was an outgoing person he graduated from Garfield High School. A firm believer in God, Edward was a missionary and for over 40 years he scoured Akron spreading the good news of God. He also loved his family and friends. He loved music, spaghetti and the peanut shop in downtown Akron. He also loved football and basketball and would give the shirt off his back to a total stranger. Edward was happy in the Lord and was a life member of Akron Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church since 1975. He dearly loved and respected his mother and they had a special bond. He was an awesome father, son, brother and grandfather.
Preceded in death by parents, Zula Carter and Alfred Carter Sr; grandson Terrance; sister Vera Bradley; brother, Laymon Cater Sr; brother-in-law, Nathan Winfield Sr; nephews Micheal, Ernie and Donald Jr; nieces, Janice and Deanie.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory his 2 loving daughters, Tiffany (Curtis), Felicia White; 8 grandchildren, Dayviaire (Day Day) Curtez Corey Jr., Jamaja, Quartey, Curtasia, Jayson, Jo Myjiah ( JJ); sisters, Velma Winfield, Helen Thomas Mamie Cowans; brothers, Alfred Carter Sr, Sidney Carter, special niece - sister Geraldine Davis; special niece Tasha Thomas; special nephews, Dontae Carter, Ernie (deceased), Carl Thomas; special mother of his daughter Tiffany that he affectionately called Liz A Beth; special sister- in-law, Ethal Miller; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Edward's family would like to offer a special thanks to his devoted sisters.
Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, December 17, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Mount Peace Cemetery.
