Dean Leroy Davis was born January 6, 1937 in Santa Fe, Florida and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2024. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elaine Herndon Davis, his daughter Julie Davis, sister Joan Imler (Tommy), grandson/son Marley Montano-Davis (Lauren), granddaughters, Caty Kinnamon & Jessica Hoffner (Ron), great-grandsons, Charlie Dean, Jayven, Myles Davis, & great-granddaughter Ayla. He was preceded in death by his parents R.A. & Louise Davis, his brother Raydell Davis & his great-grandson Tanner Kinnamon. Dean served in the Army Reserves, was employed by Tung Oil Products in Gainesville, worked with his Dads company, R.A. Davis Plumbing & Electrical Contracting, was an auto parts salesman for High Springs Auto Parts and later opened Dean Davis Auto Parts Store & Radio Shack inside of the Dean Davis Building. He was a Realtor, the State President of Florida Automotive Wholesalers Association, a city commissioner 2009-2012 and Mayor 2011-2012, the President of the High Springs Rotary Club, one of the pioneers of the High Springs Downtown Association and member of the Chamber of Commerce. He loved High Springs and worked hard to make it a better place. As a Methodist Lay Speaker, he often preached in area churches. Dean loved the Lord and his family. He led many to accept the Lord as their savior. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
