Dean Arlen Deibert, 93, of Gratz, passed away on Sunday July 13, 2025 at the comfort of his own home. Dean was born in Pottsville on May 31, 1933, a son of the late Ruth and Harry Deibert. He graduated from the former Hubley Township High School. Dean served in the U.S. Army. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal. After his military service, he devoted his life to farming. He was married to the former Arlene Engle on April 19, 1958, celebrating 60 years of marriage until her passing in 2018. After he retired, Dean kept busy tinkering and machining parts for steam engines. He was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C., Sacramento, and was a member of the Williams Grove Steam Association, and was well known in many other steam and tractor clubs throughout the area. in additon to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, David, and a sister, Shirley Rissinger. Dean is survived by two granddaughters, Katrina (Bob) Gallagher, Keshia Deibert; three grandsons, Schuyler Deibert, Travis (Cheryl) Deibert, Kellen (Natasha) Deibert; brother, Lee Deibert; 22 great grandchildren Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 11:00 am at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow. A visitation will be held on Monday July 21, from 10 am to 11 at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will take place in the Gratz Union Cemetery, Gratz.
