Dean Feldman

Dean Feldman, 65, of Ames, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
A service to celebrate Dean's life will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Stonebrook Community Church (3611 Eisenhower Ave., Ames) with visitation from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be provided after the service. Feel free to wear Vikings attire to honor Dean.
Dean Joseph Feldman was born on December 13, 1959, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ronald and Peggy (McLaird) Feldman. After schooling, Dean went on to serve in the U.S. Navy and earned the rank of Machinist's Mate Petty Officer Third Class and was honorably discharged after a three year term. He went on to work in tool and die manufacturing. Later in life, he was a school bus driver for the Des Moines Public School District. Dean was united in marriage to his wife Vicki Rae Parks on his birthday (he said it was the best birthday present!) in 2014. Dean and Vicki lived in the Des Moines and Ames areas until his passing.
In his spare time Dean enjoyed being with his family, playing board games and dice. He also enjoyed anything to do with cars, collecting coins, knives and die cast cars.
Dean is survived by his wife, Vicki Feldman of Ames, IA; ex-wife Bonnie Feldman of Des Moines, Iowa, father, Ronald Feldman, of Prior Lake, MN; sisters, LynAnn Rothmeyer of Prior Lake, MN, Shannon Feldman of Prior Lake, MN, and Sue Johnson (Tim) of Savage, MN; brother, Brian Feldman (Lisa) of Apple Valley, MN; daughters, Candice Rountree, Anne Clark (Jason) of Minneapolis, MN, Elizabeth Feldman of Des Moines, IA, Emilee Feldman of Prairie City, IA, Elisa Feldman of Des Moines, IA, Evelyn Feldman of Des Moines, IA; sons, Ronald Feldman of Des Moines, IA and Jadon Feldman of Des Moines, IA; stepson, Jeremy Parks (Michelle) of Boone, IA; stepdaughter, Jayme Peters (William) of Ames, IA; mother-in-law, Betty Haffner of Ames,IA; father-in-law, Raymond Haffner (Judy) of Fort Dodge, IA; sisters-in-law Terri Huffman (Matthew) of Ames and Raylene Grose of Cedar Rapids, IA, 5 grandchildren, 7 step- grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy McLaird Feldman, sister, Tyann Kinney, brother-in-law, Mike Rothmeyer, and brother-in-law, Tim Haffner.
He was also preceded in death by special friends James Lewis and Eldon Kirkland.
