Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Blue EarthA celebration of life service for Dean Hilpipre, 92, will be held at 11am Saturday October 25, 2025 with visitation one hour prior to the service at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Elmore. Dean passed away peacefully, Tuesday October 7, 2025 at Seasons Healthcare in Trimont.
Dean Eugene Hilpipre was born October 14, 1932 in Pilot Grove Township, the son of Lewis and Myrtle (Swanson) Hilpipre. Dean grew up on the family farm outside of Pilot Grove and attended East Chain school, graduating with the class of 1950. He continued to help farm as well as running heavy equipment for Zufall Construction, and later with Tow Brothers Construction Company. Dean had also worked as a lumberjack and bee keeper in his younger years.
On September 28, 1952 he was united in marriage to Janet M. Zufall and the couple were blessed with four children; Darvin, Dennis, Valerie and Debra. In 1966 they settled on a farm by East Chain, where Dean continued to farm and work in construction until retiring and moving up north to Outing, MN. Dean had a love for the outdoors and looked forward to the change of seasons and opportunities to fish, snowmobile, cut wood and have bonfires.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; Darvin of Fairmont, Dennis (Darlene) of Blue Earth and Debra (Eddie) Kitson of Backus, MN, 8 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law, his special friend Ann Buchan and other extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janet, daughter, Valerie, a granddaughter, his mother and father-in-law, 1 brother, 2 sisters, 2 brothers-in-law, 2 sisters-in-law and 1 son-in-law.
Donations to UHD Hospice or Martin Co Relay For Life in memory of Dean would be greatly appreciated.
